Ingredients
Crust Layer:
1 box yellow cake mix
1 egg
½ cup melted butter
Filling Layer:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
16 oz powdered sugar
Optional Additions:
Chocolate chips, lemon zest, Nutella swirl, or chopped pecans
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the crust. Mix cake mix, egg, and melted butter until combined. Press into the bottom of your baking pan.
Step 2: Make the filling. Beat softened cream cheese until smooth, then mix in eggs and vanilla. Slowly add powdered sugar until creamy. Pour over the crust.
Step 3: Bake at 350°F for 35–40 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center will remain soft.
Step 4: Cool fully before slicing. The cake continues setting as it cools. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
